DAY 1: HA GIANG – SAO HA VILLAGE – SANG TUNG STONE DESERT – LAO XA – DONG VAN (B/ L/ D)
The journey begins in Ha Giang City with a short briefing before departing toward the legendary Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Leaving the city behind, the road gradually climbs into the dramatic limestone mountains of northern Vietnam. The first stop of the day is Sao Ha Village, a remote Hmong settlement hidden deep within the forest. With only a small number of households, the village preserves a quiet atmosphere and a way of life closely connected to the surrounding mountains. Sao Ha is also known for its mysterious stories and has served as the filming location for several well-known Vietnamese movies.
Lunch is served in Pho Cao village.
In the afternoon, the journey continues deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark along a route rarely visited by most travelers. One of the highlights is the remarkable Sang Tung Stone Desert, where jagged limestone formations create a surreal landscape stretching across the plateau.
Later in the day, visit Lao Xa Village, a picturesque Hmong community famous for its traditional silver-making craft. The village sits quietly among the rocky mountains, and many local families still practice this centuries-old artisan tradition.
Arrival in Dong Van town in the late afternoon.
In the evening, guests may stroll through the historic Dong Van Old Quarter, where stone houses, small cafés, and local markets create a charming atmosphere in the heart of the plateau.

The journey then continues toward the famous Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most spectacular mountain roads in Southeast Asia. From the Youth Volunteer Monument viewpoint, guests begin a scenic hike along the White Cliff ridge trail.
