DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 0: TRAVEL TO HA GIANG CITY (MEALS: ON YOUR OWN)
Travel independently from major cities such as Hanoi or other provinces to Ha Giang City before the tour departure. Guests will be provided with one complimentary dormitory night before the journey begins, allowing time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. Nomadic Soul Travel can assist with booking round-trip sleeper buses to Ha Giang with flexible departure times at 07:00, 12:00, 16:00, and 21:00.
DAY 01: HA GIANG – THON THA – CAO MA PO – NAM DAM (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
The journey begins in Ha Giang City, where guests meet the guide and receive a short introduction before heading into the mountains.
The first stop is Thon Tha - Ha Thanh, two peaceful Tay villages known for their palm-roofed stilt houses, green rice fields, and gentle streams flowing through the valley. A walk through the village offers a calm and welcoming introduction to life in the northern highlands.
Later, the route continues toward Cao Ma Po, a remote border commune where Hoa communities have lived for generations. Guests can experience the distinct atmosphere of this frontier area, known for its peaceful villages, traditional homes, and, in spring, its soft landscapes of peach blossom. A stop is also made near border marker 291 at the Vietnam – China frontier.
Lunch is enjoyed in a local setting, where guests can taste Cao Ma Po beef hotpot, a dish with a strong Chinese culinary influence.
By late afternoon, the journey reaches Nam Dam village, a traditional Dao community known for its earthen houses, cool mountain air, and rich cultural heritage. Dinner is served at the homestay, where guests may enjoy the quiet pace of village life and the cultural atmosphere of the Dao people.

DAY 02: SAO HA VILLAGE – LAO XA – LO LO CHAI (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
After breakfast, the journey continues into the village landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
The day begins with a visit to Sao Ha village, a hidden Hmong settlement tucked deep within the mountains and forest. Small and atmospheric, the village is known for its old houses, quiet setting, and local stories that have shaped its unusual identity. It has also become known as a filming location for several Vietnamese productions.
Lunch is served in Pho Cao.
In the afternoon, guests visit Lao Xa village, one of the most beautiful Hmong villages on the plateau and a place where the traditional craft of handmade silver jewelry is still preserved. The village offers a glimpse into both local craftsmanship and the distinctive architecture of Hmong highland communities.
Later, the journey continues to Lo Lo Chai village, a charming village at the foot of Lung Cu. Guests may stroll through the village, observe daily life, and settle into the homestay for the evening. Depending on guest preference, the overnight stay may also be arranged in Then Pa village for a quieter and more secluded atmosphere.

Lao Xa Village
DAY 03: THEN PA VILLAGE – HA SUNG ANCIENT HOUSE – HA GIANG CITY (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH)
The final day begins in the peaceful mountain setting near Lung Cu.
Guests travel to Then Pa village, a beautiful and tranquil Hmong settlement located below Lung Cu. With its open views, traditional houses, and quiet rhythm of life, the village offers one of the most photogenic and peaceful village experiences in the region. Optional local activities such as wax-painting and horse riding may be arranged depending on interest.
The journey then continues to Ha Sung Ancient House, a historic Hmong residence that is several centuries old. Once associated with the former ruling class of the region, the house remains an important example of traditional architecture and continues to be inhabited by several generations of one family. The visit offers insight into the social history, architecture, and enduring cultural life of the Hmong community.
Lunch is served in the Sung La – Dong Van area.
In the afternoon, the return journey continues back to Ha Giang City.
Arrival in Ha Giang is expected by late afternoon. Guests may rest at the tour office while waiting for sleeper bus departure. You can choose an early bus departing around 16:30–17:00 for same-day return, or a night sleeper bus departing at 21:00 to travel to other provinces and arrive early the following morning.

- Tour rates are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation. After this period, rates and conditions may be subject to adjustment based on actual service availability and market conditions.

- Surcharges may apply during peak travel periods such as Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year, and major public holidays in Vietnam.
- Standard check-in and check-out times are subject to each accommodation provider’s policy. Additional charges may apply for early check-in or late check-out where available.
