DAY 2: AN CHÂNG RETREAT HA GIANG – QUAN BA – YEN MINH – DONG VAN (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)
Distance: approx. 160 km
Driving time: approx. 5 – 6 hours, including scenic stops

After breakfast in the peaceful mountain setting of An Châng Retreat, the journey continues deeper into the Dong Van Karst Plateau.

Continue to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, located at an altitude of approximately 1,500 metres above sea level, offering panoramic views over Tam Son Valley and the Twin Fairy Mountains.

The route then continues through Yen Minh Pine Forest, known for its fresh air and winding mountain roads.

In the afternoon, visit the Vuong Palace, also known as the Hmong King’s Palace. Built in the early 20th century by Vuong Chinh Duc, this stone-and-wood residence once served as the centre of power over a large highland area. Located along the historic trade route between Vietnam and China, the palace reflects the period when the Dong Van Plateau played an important role in regional trade networks. Its architecture reveals a refined blend of Hmong craftsmanship and Chinese cultural influence, while also reflecting the semi-autonomous status once held by the Hmong aristocracy.

Arrive in Dong Van Old Quarter by late afternoon. Free time to stroll through the old stone streets or relax at a local café.

Life jackets are provided, and the boats are operated by experienced local boatmen. Boarding and disembarkation points are selected according to weather and water conditions to ensure safety.
