✨ DETAILED ITINERARY:
DAY 0: ARRIVAL IN HÀ GIANG CITY [_/ _/ _]
Guests travel from Hanoi or other major cities (Hải Phòng, Quảng Ninh, Sapa, Ninh Bình, Nghệ An, Thanh Hóa, Bắc Ninh, Bắc Giang…) to Hà Giang City the day before the tour officially begins.
We arrange a comfortable overnight stay in Hà Giang City so you can rest before your adventure.
For those who need, we can help book sleeper buses with multiple daily departure times (07:00, 12:00, 16:00, 21:00) directly from Hanoi and other cities.
This ensures you arrive safely, well-rested, and ready to start your Hoàng Su Phì – Xín Mần – Bắc Hà adventure the following morning.
DAY 1: HÀ GIANG – NAM KHOA MAM XOI HILL – NAM HONG VILLAGE [B/ L/ D]
Your journey begins in Hà Giang City. After breakfast, the road winds west into the mountains where Tày and Dao villages nestle under palm trees. By late morning, you stand at Mam Xoi Hill (Nậm Khòa), gazing over endless terraced fields. Lunch is served with panoramic views.
In the afternoon, wander through the Dao village of Nậm Hồng, where horseshoe-shaped terraces embrace stilt houses. Try your hand at catching rice-field carp—a local tradition that becomes dinner. Overnight in a Dao ethnic homestay surrounded by fresh mountain air.
Overnight in the homestay in Nậm Hồng
DAY 2: CONQUERING CHIEU LAU THI PEAK – BAN LUOC TERRACES [B/ L/ D]
After a hearty breakfast, lace up your boots for Chiêu Lầu Thi Peak (2,402m)—the second-highest mountain in Hà Giang. A short but magical hike takes you through mossy forests and alpine flora before reaching sweeping cloud-filled vistas.
After lunch at the foothill, the journey continues to Bản Luốc, one of Vietnam’s grandest terraced valleys, adorned with waterfalls cascading down the cliffs.
Dinner and overnight in Vinh Quang Town.
DAY 3: BAN PHUNG – SUOI THAU STEPPE – BAC HA [B/ L/ D]
Morning light greets you in Bản Phùng, the “village above the clouds,” home to the La Chí people. Life here feels untouched, quiet, and timeless. After lunch in Cốc Pài, you cross the vast Suôi Thầu Steppe—a rolling highland plain that blushes pink with buckwheat in autumn and shines green in summer.
By evening, you reach Bắc Hà, where a steaming hotpot of horse meat awaits. Later, stroll through the lively Bắc Hà Night Market, filled with lanterns, music, and street food.
Overnight in the homestay in Bắc Hà
DAY 04: HOANG A TUONG PALACE – COC SAM GRASS HILL – CRUISE ON THE CHAY RIVER [B/ L/ _]
If it’s Sunday, you’ll begin with the iconic Bắc Hà Market, a kaleidoscope of ethnic groups in vibrant costumes trading buffalo, dogs, horses, and handmade crafts.
Later, head to Cốc Sâm Grass Hill, where herds of horses and buffalo graze beneath pine trees. Finally, embark on a Chảy River boat trip, gliding past hidden caves, tropical forests, and the thundering Cốc Ly Waterfall.
Lunch is served onboard before transferring to Lào Cai, where your journey concludes.
