DETAILED ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVE HUE (MEALS: NOT INCLUDED)

Arrive in Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, and transfer to the hotel for check-in.

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2: HUE (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH)
This morning, depart from the hotel to begin a full-day discovery of Hue.

The first stop is the Imperial Citadel, where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. From here, enjoy a cyclo ride to the Tran Dinh Son Museum, the first private museum in Hue, located in a traditional nha ruong house that once belonged to a mandarin under King Minh Mang. The collection offers insight into the daily objects and refined lifestyle of the imperial era.

Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River. Built in 1601, the pagoda is famous for its 21-meter tower, a symbol of Hue. Within the grounds stands the Austin car associated with one of the most iconic historical moments of modern Vietnam in 1963.

In the afternoon, visit the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, set in peaceful gardens and ponds. Then continue to Khai Dinh’s Tomb, notable for its unusual blend of traditional Vietnamese design and European influences.

Before returning to the hotel, stroll through Dong Ba Market with the guide and experience one of Hue’s most lively local trading spaces.

Khai Dinh’s Tomb

DAY 3: HUE - DANANG - HOI AN (MEALS: BREAKFAST)
Leave Hue for Hoi An along one of central Vietnam’s most scenic coastal routes. The drive passes through the photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before climbing over Hai Van Pass, one of the country’s best-known mountain roads by the sea.

Continue through Danang and visit the Cham Museum, home to what is widely regarded as the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world.

In the afternoon, arrive in Hoi An and enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town, visiting former merchant houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful local market.

Road transfer time: approx. 3 hours, excluding sightseeing stops

Hoi An Ancient Town

DAY 4: HOI AN - MY SON - HOI AN (MEALS: BREAKFAST)
In the morning, depart for My Son, the former religious center and capital of the Champa Kingdom. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, My Son is one of the finest surviving examples of ancient Champa civilization in southern Vietnam. The impressive Hindu-themed ruins feature stone sculptures, temples and towers surrounded by tropical greenery.

On the way back to Hoi An, stop at a small local house and be welcomed by the host for an introduction to the full process of making rice-paper.

Return to Hoi An in the afternoon, with free time to relax. Guests may browse for souvenirs in Hoi An’s galleries and silk shops or cycle independently to nearby An Bang Beach.
